Experiment No: 01
Experiment Name: Define color, Visible color, Wave length, Hue, Value, Chrome, Light and light source which are widely used in textile sector.
Color:
Color derives from the spectrum of light interacting
in the eye with the spectral sensitive’s of the light spectors.
Light:
It is the aspect of radiant energy of which human
observer is aware, through visual sensations arising from stimulation of the
retina by the radiant energy.
There are several light source widely used in textile sector.
These are:
D65 (Day light and mostly used).
TL85
(Tungsten light),
D50, Uv, F (Fluorescent light).
Visible color wavelength:
The human visual system samples the visible spectrum range
400 – 700 nm.
The spectors have peak sensitivities to short (~440 nm), medium (~535 nm), wavelength and are S, M
& L cones.

Hue:
How we prescribe an object color. It is the common name of color.
Value (Lightness):
Value is the amount of black mixed with the hue. It is the color luminous
intensity, the degree of lightness color can be classified as light or dark.
Chroma:
Which is the measure of the saturation of color is expressed by the distance
from the value axis. The dullness of color described is chroma.
