Conventional mini lap former machine:-

Mini lap:

Combing is a process by which we get a sliver makes by predetermined length cotton fiber.
Sliver is rope line formation of cotton fiber more or less parallel to each other without twist.
Draw sliver contain fiber but it also contain short fiber impurities and seed particles. To remove this we use steel combed with a length of  14-16 inch. the sliver of drawing is maximum 1.5 inch, but our combed is up to 16 inch. For effectiveness of the combing we required several number of drawing sliver side by side in continuous form which can be make by a particular process is called mini lap formation. Mini lap formation process is two types-

  1. Conventional mini lap process.
                        a) Sliver lap forming machine.
                        b) Ribbon lap forming machine.
                         a) Supper lap former machine.    

Conventional lap former machine:

The first step of conventional former mini lap machine is sliver lap former machine.

a) Sliver mini lap former:

  1. Draw sliver on the can.
  2. sliver on the steel tray. 
  3. sliver sewing roller. 
  4. Feed roller
  5. Drafting zone-3/3
  6. calendar roller. 
  7. Sliver mini lap.

Working principle:-

12-16 draw sliver passed over steel tray ad dawned by the drawing roller.Then the shit of sliver feed to the feed roller and enter into the drafting zone. Drafting zone is basically 3 over 3 roller draft. After draft the material passed through calendar roller for compactness and wind of a spool as mini lap.

b)Ribbon lap former machine:

It is the 2nd step of conventional lap forming machine.

  1. Sliver lap 
  2. Lap guide roller.
  3. Steel tray. 
  4. Drawing roller. 
  5. Feed roller.
  6. Drafting zone.
  7. Calendar roller.
  8. Ribbon lap(Mini lap)

Working principle:

6 number of sliver lap to the machine. From the upper side and comes down on a tray form send wise. This material drawn by drawing roller and past forward to the feed roller. The material then enter into the drafting zone of 3 over 3 roller draft. After draft this material passed through the calendar roller for compactness on a wing on a spool as mini lap (Final). This mini lap feed to the combing machine from conventional system.
