Introduction:

Over lock is one kind of stitch that sews over the edge of one or two pieces of cloth for edging hemming or seaming. Usually an over lock machine will cut the edge of the both as they are fed through some are made without cutters.The inclusion of automated cutters allows over lock machine to create finished seams easily and quickly.An over lock sewing machine differs from a lock stitch sewing machine in that it uses loopers fed by multiple thread cones rather than a bobbin.

Working principle:

4-thread over lock machine are over lock machine. Actually this is the type of sewing machine these are one or two needle and edge trimming knife is at the front of needle. To make over lock stitch 2-5 thread are used usually 5 rpm of over lock machine is 6500.But them also stretching (Max 1:0.6) and gathering (Max 1:4) systems during feeding cloth stitch is done up maximum 4 mm length and stitch length may also be changed by dash button. This type of machine can be used for both woven and knitted cloth.

Function of different part:

1. Thread guide:- It holds the thread in position from the spool to the needle .
2. Thread cutter:- It helps to cutting the extra thread from the fabric.
3. Thread stand:- Thread stand on creel are set up for the cone.
4. Needles:- The needle continuous to rise and the lower looper which has picked up the needle thread loop continuous its motion to the night.
5. Loopers:- Loopers are available indifferent shapes respective of their machine loopers may on may not carry the lower thread in the formation of stitch.
6. spreader:- Spreader work in conjunction with a looper to assist in the loop formation.

Feature:-

1. In case of over lock sewing machine one multiple number of needle is used.
2. Here 1.5 numbers of thread are used 
3. The purpose of single thread used in over lock machine is end to end seaming in textile finishing.
